District-9

Recently I saw a new movie named District 9. It was an under-hyped movie and the only reason I was aware of it was because it was being produced by Peter Jackson (the director of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy). I am glad I saw this movie because it came with a fresh story and some entirely different perspectives with that story.

Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen
==============================

Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen is a visual effects delight. For any fans of the mechwarrior games and of the Transformers, this movie brings a feast of fights between machines that will satisfy the hunger of almost all of them. The movie picks off two years after the events that happened in the first movie. It seems that the Autobots (the good transformers), have established a symbiotic relationship with the human race even though their existence is hidden from the world at large. The Decepticons (the bad transformers) have been licking their wounds ever since Megatron was defeated in the events that wrapped up the first movie. However, the Decepticons have not been idle and have been searching for ways to bring back their fallen leader.

As this second movie begins, the teenage boy that befriended the Autobots in the first movie unwittingly hands the Decepticons a method of bringing back Megatron from the depths of an ocean. What follows is the usual spicy curry mix of fights, introduction of a sinister villain, a misunderstood hero, a slow-mo run of a hot nubile woman and so on. To summarize, its worth watching it once on the big screen just for the visual effects.

Movie Review - Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation

The end of the world is an event that has been foretold from the very origins of time---the origin of man on earth anyway. Prophets from Noah to Muhammad have warned us against a day when the world as we know it, will come to an end. And that day will be known as Judgement Day. People have been fascinated by this prediction to the extent that several theories have waxed and waned about the exact nature of the demise as the centuries have passed. The Terminator movie series whose first installment appeared in 1982 proposed the idea that machines in the future would be the direct cause of human extinction.
