Introduction :

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) is a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. The broad goals of the centre are to promote equity and excellence in science and mathematics education from primary school to undergraduate college level. It is India's nodal center for Olympiad programmes in Astronomy, Junior Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Camp Objective:

The primary objective of this camp is to spread awareness about the Olympiad activity and in particular Astronomy Olympiad activity which is already operational in the country. The camp also aims at productive interaction of the teacher community with Olympiad activity at its focus.

The closing date for the Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) programme Research Fellowship has now been extended to 31 August 2014. The programme will take place at ECSAT in the UK and looks at "Success factors for economic sustainability”.

ESA's Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) programme transforms research and development activities into operational, profitable and self-sustaining products and services. The success of ARTES is the result of consolidating public-private partnerships between the decision-makers from space industry, service providers, organisations and user communities within participating Member States.

Space technology is a truly multi-disciplinary field with huge potential in the coming days. However, the access to these technologies is constrained and difficult. It is important that the student community, research community and space enthusiasts get access to some of these technologies.  This will pave the way for new breed of space engineers and researchers.
