18th National Space Science Symposium (NSSS - 2014)

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is glad to announce the 18th National Space Science Symposium (NSSS - 2014) to be held at Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh during January 29-February 1, 2014. The symposium sponsored by ISRO, in association with the Astronomical Society of India, is organized to provide a scientific forum to present new results in the areas of atmospheric science, space science, planetary exploration and astronomy and astrophysics.

The following broad areas will be covered during the symposium.

  • Space and ground-based Astronomy and Astrophysics.
  • Planetary science/exploration.
  • Sun and its interaction with the Earth and other planetary systems.
  • Magnetosphere, Ionosphere, Thermosphere and middle Atmosphere phenomena.
  • Space based oceanography, meteorology and tropospheric studies.
  • Climate changes and Geosphere Biosphere interaction processes.

National Conference on Space Debris Management and Mitigation Techniques will be jointly organised by Astronautical Society of India (ASI) & Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) On February 27-28, 2014 at ISRO Headquarters, Bengaluru, INDIA. The conference aims at providing a forum for deliberations for future strategies and for evolving a road map for effective Space Debris Management.

A one-day science teaching workshop for high school teachers (class VIII to Class X) will be held at jawaharlala nehru planetarium, Bangalore on September 20. At the workshop hosted by the Bangalore Association for Science Education, 40 teachers can take on a first come, first served. The five hour session will begin at 10.30am.
