You may join a astronomy club as a beginning as you said you don't have much information about astronomy. Start reading books of NASA where you will come to know about satellites, astronauts, telescopes, space stations and everything. Also go through official site of NASA, ISRO, ESAC. Here you will come to know about their recent activities. You do not need to wait for you engineering to be completed. You can apply for 2nd year at any of the abroad university for the course you want to go for. I will suggest you to go for astrophysics.
After you get information about astronomy you can go for internship at NASA named DEVELOP more information on this link- http://develop.larc.nasa.gov/. Best Luck..!!!!

You may like to contact some of the astronomy/space experts and interact with them, write a short proposal on any exciting research problem in astronomy and work with them for 2 months to gain relevant exposure and experience. It would certainly a good first step to being the best space scientist in the world. Remember all great journeys start with the first small step in the right direction. Enjoy your work and keep your sincere interest going.
Apply for a 2-month (summer) Research Fellowship & get details from www.ias.ac.in.
